KALIBO, Aklan (PNA) –A showcase of vintage cars will usher in the opening salvo of the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-atihan Festival 2014 on Oct. 25.
At least three organizations of car and motorcycle enthusiasts in the province have already expressed participation.
These include the I-TOYS headed by Kalibo Councilor Mark Ace Bautista; Aklan Beetle Club headed by Carlos Opay; and Aklanon Youth and Upcoming Professionals headed by Rolly Iquina.
Aside from the car show, other highlights of the opening salvo include the signing of the memorandum of agreement with the GMA Network, Body Painting Festival, and the presentation of the 2014 Mister and Miss Ati-atihan candidates.
The car show is a prelude to the proposed Car and Motorcycle Contest slated Jan. 15, 2014 at the Kalibo Pastrana Park. This is part of the new attractions in the annual Ati-atihan revelry.
The competition is expected to feature innovations on lights and sounds, accessories, customize modifications in vehicles, among others.|
Organizers said the contest is also open to car enthusiasts in other parts of Western Visayas.
