MANILA, (PNA) — Three people were killed while two others sustained injuries after the truck they were riding on accidentally hit a steel railing and a mango tree in Purok 4, Barangay Masaya Sur, San Agustin, Isabela before dawn Saturday.
Senior Supt. Sotero Ramos, Isabela Provincial Police Office chief, said the incident took place around 2 a.m. along the National Road near the said town.
He identified the fatalities as Abraham Dalloran, 47, married and driver of the ill-fated Isuzu truck (TGA-571); farmer Roger Respicio, 42, married and Lovejoy Jacinto.
Those injured were identified as Agner Jacinto, 47, and Reynaldo Jacinto, 24.
All of the victims are residents of Barangay Palacian, San Agustin, Isabela.
Ramos said that the victims were all aboard Dalloran’s truck when it suddenly swerved and hit the steel railing and mango tree, crushing the fatalities, who were all seated in front of the vehicle.
The vehicle was carrying 500 board feet of lumber when the mishap took place.
He added that they are still investigating the case while the injured individuals are now undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
