MANILA, (PNA) — A Delta Airlines flight to the US via Nagoya, Japan was slightly delayed Saturday morning after an unidentified person called airport authorities that a bomb was to explode in that flight.
Jose Angel Honrado, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager, said airport personnel received the call at around 3:40 am Saturday and said that the bomb was planted in the cargo section of the plane.
“As a standard procedure, the Airport Police responded, the PNP Aviation Security Group responded, chineck yung cargo sa eroplano, wala naman nakitang bomb,” Honrado said.
Delta Airlines flight 171 was scheduled for departure at 6:45 am but was able to fly out at 7:21 am due to the incident.
