WARSAW, (PNA/Xinhua) — The European Commission on Thursday asked Poland to implement the European Union (EU) directive on industrial emissions.
Poland was given two months to answer how to introduce the regulations. If the directive is not implemented, the country will be taken to court and fined.
The directive on industrial emissions was adopted in 2010 and entered into force in January of 2011. Member states were expected to incorporate the directive into national legislation by Jan. 7, 2013.
According to the European Commission, Poland has also failed to comply with the requirements of EU public procurement law.
