MANILA, (PNA) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Friday announced that the death toll in the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked Central Visayas last Tuesday has now climbed to 173.
This can be broken down to 160 earthquake related deaths in Bohol, 12 in Cebu and 1 in Siquijor.
Some 19 people remained missing while the injured victims substantially increased from 375 to 498.
The NDRRMC also estimated the cost of damage to infrastructure in Cebu and Bohol at P549.85 million.
