BACOLOD CITY, (PNA) — Tension cracks were seen in two government buildings in this city after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit the Visayas past 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Intensity 5 was recorded in Iloilo City.
According to the Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, cracks were evident on the walls of the second and third floor of the Metro Iloilo Water District office along Bonifacio Drive.
A similar damage was also monitored in some walls of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Building located in the same area.
Situated between the MIWD offices and the Capitol building is the Iloilo Hall of Justice that is currently undergoing retrofitting works after it was damaged by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake in February 2012.
A concrete house in Barangay Concepcion here was also damaged.
Meanwhile, a construction worker in Jaro district in this city fell from his work area during the earthquake and was treated at the Iloilo Mission Hospital.
