DUMAGUETE CITY, (PNA) -– Police operatives have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in various carnapping incidents in Guihulngan City and other nearby areas in northern Negros Oriental.
A police report identified the suspects as Ariel de Asis Ramas, 18, from Barangay Planas, Guihulngan City, and Wilmer de Asis Abarquez, 25, of Barangay Malaiba in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.
The suspects were arrested around 9:30 a.m. Sunday along the national highway in Barangay Hilaitan, Guihulngan following a report they had allegedly stolen a motorcycle earlier at the city public market.
Police recovered two grenades, one from each suspect, and the stolen motorcycle following their arrest.
Earlier, a certain Rolly Bangcaya de Aguas, 32, married, and a resident of Barangay Hilaitan, Guihulngan City, reported that his motorcycle was stolen.
According to the police, the two suspects are “noted personalities” for their alleged involvement in carnapping incidents in Guihulngan City, Canlaon City, La Libertad and nearby town.
The suspects are now detained at the city police station as charges for carnapping and illegal possession of explosives will be filed against them.
