MANILA, (PNA) — Four transmission lines in Luzon remain unrestored after these suffered from tripping over the weekend due to Typhoon Santi.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said that as of 4pm Monday, October 14, 2013, the Cabanatuan – Baler 69kV line, Cabanatuan – Pantabangan 69kV line, Cabanatuan – San Isidro 69kV line 1 and Cabanatuan – San Isidro 69kV line 2 are still undergoing restoration works.
“Restoration time for the abovementioned lines cannot be estimated yet because the extent of the damage is still being assessed,” it said in a statement.
The grid operator “assures the public of the expedited repair of the affected facilities and that it is ready to conduct similar disaster management activities to ensure reliable power transmission services.”
“The corporation is also continuously taking necessary preparations and precautions to minimize the impact of succeeding tropical storms and disasters on NGCP operations and facilities,” it added.
Typhoon Santi entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility late Friday last week and exited Sunday morning.
