Posted on October 14, 2013

DUPAX DEL NORTE, Nueva Vizcaya, (PNA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) released P300,000 to this municipality to help micro entrepreneurs start their livelihood projects.

The P300,000 will be given to 20 recipients of the Negosyo sa Kariton or Nego Kart Project of the DOLE in collaboration with the local government unit here.

The project’s recipients will receive P15,000 each to make their business carts that will be used to peddle their products such as fish, meat and vegetables to the barangays.

“With this Nego Karts, the recipients can have a source of income for their families and therefore be economically uplifted in their respective communities,” said Engineer Henry Balangatan, DOLE district officer.

DOLE regional director Sixto Rodriguez Jr. handed the check to Dupax del Norte town mayor Tony Palugod during the turn-over program recently at the municipal grounds here.

The Nego-Kart project is one of the DOLE’s Priority Projects which is intended to provide decent livelihood mainly for the benefit of marginal workers in the country’s informal sector, specifically the ambulant workers in the country.

The Nego-Kart project will provide the vendors with services that will enable them to increase, upgrade and diversify their products and services, and market the same to more buyers or customers.

Such services cover the acquisition of a vending cart and accessory livelihood tools; provision of working capital for procurement or production of marketable goods or services; provision of trainings on production skills, entrepreneurship and business management; and, assistance in securing business permits to operate in designated areas.
