CDC exec urges employees to help promote Clark Festival

Posted on October 14, 2013

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, (PNA) –– An official of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has urged employees of the state-owned firm to take part in promoting the upcoming Clark Festival slated on Nov. 16-17 at the Parade Grounds inside Clark Freeport Zone.

CDC public relations manager Angelo C. Lopez, Jr., said the two-day event is the first of its kind initiated and implemented by the corporation unlike previous events where CDC was only one of the sponsors.

Lopez expressed optimism that the CDC employees’ promotion of the event by word-of-mouth and through their respective social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter will encourage more visitors to attend.

The Freeport is also being primed to be a major tourist destination and a haven for weekend family gatherings.

Freeport stakeholders such as the Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA), Global Gateway and Logistics Center (GGLC), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Greater Clark Visitor Bureau (GCVB), Nayong Pilipino, and El Kabayo have lined up various activities for the 2-day event that residents, employees, and visitors alike will find to be a pleasant experience.

There are more than 72,000 workers in Clark and with CDC accounting for at least 800, it will be more than enough to generate awareness and excitement for all the events lined up by CDC and its partners,”Lopez said.

CILA president Rene Banzon added that more than 100 food stalls and merchandise booths will be opened to provide a variety of meals and items for the Clark Festival that will be kicked off with a fun run.

The annual Horse Festival has also been incorporated into the fiesta along with bike and horse rides, a football exhibition, soccer and rugby games, and a Frisbee competition.

Other events lined up are the Palarong Pilipino, an animal show sponsored by Zoocobia, a dog show, and the battle of the bands.

Simultaneous activities will also be held by the North Philippines Travel Expo at the SM City Clark, Clark International Speedway Motorcycle and Vintage Car Grand Prix, a static display from the PAF, and golf tournaments at the Mimosa and Korea CC Golf and Country Clubs.

A fireworks display at 10pm will highlight the first night of the Clark Festival.
