MANILA, (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday said that the whole country will experience generally good weather in the next 24 hours.
In its advisory, PAGASA said that the whole country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
It added that moderate to strong winds blowing from the north to northwest will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over the rest of Luzon.
The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to west with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, as of 4:00 p.m. Monday, the eye of Typhoon “Tino” (Wipha) was located based on all available data at 1,190 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (23.4°N, 134.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 160 kph and gustiness of up to 190 kph.
It is forecast to move North Northwest at 20 kph.
Weather forecaster Alvin Pura said that typhoon “Tino” is the third cyclone to visit the country this month and the 20th this year.
Pura said they do not expect “Tino” to hit land in the country.
Pura said no public storm warning signals were raised since “Tino” was too far to directly affect any part of the country.
If the cyclone will maintain its speed and direction, “Tino” is expected to exit the country within the next 12 to 24 hours, heading towards Japan, he said.
