CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, (PNA) -– Five more suspected drug traffickers were rounded up in a series of separate raids conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sunday, the PDEA reported on Monday.
Emerson Margate, PDEA regional director, said that the series of raids were conducted separately in Kauswagan, and Camaman-an, all urban barangays in Cagayan de Oro City.
Margate identified the suspects as Muarip Mamongcara y Abdullah, Christian Pimentel y Gabule, Amerodin Macaraub y Mamongcara, Aida Matanog y Mamao and Sidney Abella y Rosal.
Seized from the suspects were a total of 15 grams of the suspected illegal “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and some 26 heat sealed transparent plastic sachets with an estimated total street price of P 190,000.
The PDEA has already arrested about 40 persons who were directly and indirectly suspected to be involved in the drug trafficking since the agency mounted a no-nonsense drive against the illicit drug trade starting in September.
Margate said that the recovered pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory for qualitative and quantitative examination.
He said the suspects are now temporarily detained in a PDEA detention cell for the filing of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the anti-drug law against them.
