BACOLOD CITY, July 1 (PNA) — The University of Saint La Salle (USLS) in this city will open the Liceo De La Salle Senior High School starting next school year.
Dr. Mario Loredo, school head, said it will cater to all private and public school Grade 10 completers under the K-12 program by offering two additional years as preparation for tertiary education.
Loredo said Liceo De La Salle is named after a school in Europe.
He added that the school will start accepting admission and enrollment in August and will offer academic tracks, sports, arts and design tracks that are already aligned to the courses that the students should take in college.
Under the academic tracks, Loredo said they will offer all strands such as accountancy, business and management (ABM), science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), humanities, social science and general academic strand.
Loredo added that since there will be no freshmen students next school year due to the K-12 program full implementation in June, “it is the university’s program and measure to provide work among its affected college teachers.”
These college teachers are qualified and are the best persons to teach in senior high school, he said.
Liceo De La Salle Senior High School is located within the USLS campus since they will not build new classrooms, and will only utilize available rooms in the college department.
“We are very K-12 ready,” Loredo said adding that in terms of “facilities and teachers, we have more than enough.”
He added that Liceo De La Salle will also accept vouchers from enrollees under schools that are members of Education Service Contracting Scheme. (PNA)
